"Whether it's something from the refrigerator or something from a fast food restaurant, they're eating it in the car more and more these days." I have a confession. Talking on my cell phone while driving, not an issue. Driving while putting on make-up...never going to happen. Squeezing a soft drink between my knees while holding a burger in my left hand and reaching over to snag some fries from the console....sigh...guilty as charged. Its wrong and I am going to stop , especially now that I am doing the 'Body by Vi Challenge' because shakes are super messy if they tip over. And guess what? A study out now lists the foods most likely to distract you and cause you to have an accident. Check out the blog for the list and much more....

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 65% of Americans fessed up to eating while they were driving. Eating scored 57% as driving distraction. At least 20% of people admitted to using their thighs to steer while eating.

Juicy hamburgers - dripping condiments
Barbecue - just messy
Fried chicken - greasy hands
Jelly and cream filled doughnuts - they ooze

Chocolate - drivers instinctively try to clean the smears and stains

Have to say that taco's, soup and BBQ are not on my list. I have been banned from drinking coffee in the car by my family and firends, who have cited 100's of examples where I pretty much spill it every single time. So...don't be a stat, try and keep both hands on the wheel and leave that meal for when you are out of the car.
