We would like to recognize Darren Hickson, owner of Hevy D's Kettle Korn as our 'hero' this week.
An amazing supporter of the Canadian Paralympic Committee, working with the Village Green Mall to help raise money.
The Paralympic Winter Games are in Vancouver/Whistler March 12-21. Opening Ceremonies are on CTV Friday night, March 12th.
Our local paralympians are: Sonja Gaudet (wheelchair curler), Ina Forrest (also wheelchair curler), & Josh Dueck (para-alpine skiier).
Darren Hickson- donated 45% of his sales from the Vernon Vipers Game on January 22 to the Canadian Paralympic Committee and this Friday, March 12 - Hevy D's Kettle Korn will be sold at the Village Green Mall between 11a.m.-5p.m., with 50% of sales going to the committee.
Thanks Darren!

Television is an invention that permits you to be entertained in your living room by people you wouldn't have in your home. ~ David Frost. I don't think when David Frost made this comment, he had any idea about reality television. These are shows you don't admit to watching...guilty pleasures if you will. But love them or hate them...you will probably watch one or two of them. And quite honestly sometimes watching garbage t.v. is much better then the alternative that I and many others grew up with...repeats of the Beachcombers. So...here are five shows you might want to check out during your summer holidays.
