It was a skateboarding tragedy that claimed the life of a 21-year old Kelowna man Thursday night.

RCMP say the man was riding a skateboard and hanging onto the passenger door of a car, when he fell and was run over by the vehicle.

It happened around 9pm, on Spiers Road near KLO Road.

The man, whose name is still being held back pending notification of relatives, was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital where he died of his
upper body and head injuries.

The man's family hopes the tragic death will get other people to reconsider, if they're planning to skateboard while being towed.
