Lumby By-election Set

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail
Lumby residents will be going to the polls on August 15.

A by-election will be needed after two people filed papers to run for councillor.

Julie Pilon was first to file, followed by Kaaralee Gehring,  and there could be more.

There may also be a race for mayor, but so far, former councillor Kevin Acton is the lone candidate.

Nominations for both positions close July 10.

The resignation of mayor Eric Foster in May to become the Vernon Monashee MLA, led to the nomination call.

Officials say the vote, which comes less than a year after the last municipal elections, will cost village taxpayers about $5,000
