Crowds Flock to IPE

The Interior Provincial Exhibition 111-th event got off to a roaring start Wednesday, with a jump over last year's opening day attendance.

Manager Bryan Burns says the crowd count was 24, 210.

"That was a big day. Last year we were at 19, 557."

Burns says that was despite a wet start to the day.

"It was a bit rainy early in the morning, but then it turned out to be a beautiful day."

He says there were lineups at the food fair, and and Iron Chef contest was a big hit, along with the rodeo.

Today the  Iron Chef contest continues and it's Family Day.
