Coldstream Seeks Creek Cleaning Funds

A cleanup of Coldstream Creek could be closer after the regional district endorsed the municipality's bid for grant money to improve water quality.

Coldstream wants 17 thousand dollars from the Okanagan Basin Water board as well as 10 thousand from the Environmental Farm Plan.

The immediate target would be upstream from School Road in Lavington, an area impacted by erosion, drainage problems and livestock.

The concern is with the creek's contamination, and the ultimate loss in water quality in Kalamalka Lake.
