BC Transit will sign a long term lease to use city land at the former water reclamation plant as its main base.
Mayor Wayne Lippert says the three acre site on 25th Avenue will be a central hub for the buses.
"It will be used for servicing and washing the buses as well as having an area for the employees to go and have a rest themselves, as far as restrooms and lunch breaks and whatever else they need."
Lipppet says Transit has outgrown its current site on 24th Avenue.
He says the city through its official community plan is committed to increasing transit
The city will receive a prepayment of 1.3 million dollars from Transit, for the initial 40 year term, with two-ten year renewal options.
