I know what you’re thinking. There could be more than just a caffeine buzz goin’ on here…
With all the grim news coming out of northern California wineries lately, it’s nice to have a story that’s at least somewhat joyful – and I’m say a combination of wine and coffee is IT.
Napa Valley coffee brand Molinari Private Reserve (MPR) is about to find its place in the hearts of wine and coffee lovers with its line of wine-infused coffee. According to the Daily Meal website, MPR initially started as an experimental project between brand founder Rick Molinari and John Weaver, master coffee roaster at Wild Card Roasters. They eventually became the first coffee company to successfuly infuse coffee beans with wine.
Each blend in the brand’s collection is made from coffee beans that are “rehydrated to a specific liquid percentage using a special house-made red”. Then the coffee beans are dried and roasted.
NOW, here’s what could be disappointing for those who want the good times rollin’ first thing in the morning; the wine-infused coffee is non-alcoholic, but produces “rich bull-bodied coffee with a blueberry note”. I mean, that sounds delicious, buuuut..
Aw well, there’s always Bailey’s. ~ Jason
