RCMP have arrested an arson suspect in Kelowna, a day after releasing a photo of the suspect to the media.
The suspect is a 34 year-old South Okanagan man of no fixed address.
He faces potential charges and remains in police custody at this time.
Police say not long after the photo was released, an employee of a Kelowna business recognized the suspect as someone who frequented their establishment.
“RCMP officers were tipped earlier this morning and caught up to the suspect who was spotted by the public. He was taken into police custody near the intersection of Gordon Drive and Harvey Avenue,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
The man is a suspect in several recent nuisance fires in Kelowna including one on Monday at Springfield and Burtch roads.
