Probably the most visible member of the BC Liberal caucus is now in the running for the leadership.
Former Finance Minister Mike de Jong has jumped into the race.
He says he hopes “at the end of the exercise people see in me a prospective captain that can get in the corner with Mr. Horgan and the NDP and fulfill the role of opposition leader, and thereafter take a vision to British Columbians that they see as worthy of support.”
De Jong says he knows there is a lot of work to do to re-earn the trust of British Columbians.
When compared with the other candidates, he sees himself as the standout because of his experience and says he can bring together an
“expanded and diverse team of new supporters.”
He joins Sam Sullivan, Dianne Watts, Mike Bernier, Andrew Wilkinson, Michael Lee and Terrace businesswoman Lucy Sager.
