The World Clown Association is upset, gang.
It’s bad enough their reputation was damaged with last year’s creepy clown sightings all over the map. Now, with a new adaptation of the horror ‘It’ coming to theatres next month, no one is looking to book any clowns for their children’s birthday party.
Thus, the clowns are really, really upset with Stephen King.
The president of the World Clown Association, Pam Moody, released a press statement claiming that they “believe the art of the clown is something to be treasured and enjoyed by audiences worldwide. We bring a happy, joyful, creative, caring, positive, and fun experience to our audiences” and that in her opinion, horror clowns such as Pennywise in ‘It’ “are not clowns.”
Clowns DO have a point…their happy, jolly image sure is taking a hit. But c’mon, you clowns….taking it out on Stephen King, just for writing a story? Put the blame on the idiots dressing up and scaring folks just for kicks, not an author just trying to make a living. To throw King under the crowded clown car – well, methinks the floppy shoe doesn’t fit. ~ Jason
