Three men were rescued after a speed boat ran into the shore on Okanagan Lake.
RCMP say it happened in the 2700 block of Westside Road in West Kelowna around 10 pm Wednesday.
The 24 foot Malibu wake-boarding vessel ended up on the shore in a treed area.
“Three adult males were located nearby uninjured by the crews of the fire rescue boat. One of those males was identified as the registered owner of the vessel,” says RCMP Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey.
A 32-year-old West Kelowna man who had been found floating, displayed gross levels of intoxication, and because of that, he was taken into police custody to be released when sober.
Police continue to investigate what caused the crash, and exactly how many people were involved, after unconfirmed reports that a fourth person may have been on the boat.
