Have you had your vacation this summer? What did you do? While on my vacation my cousin’s wife Shelley and I took time away from our families for a 3-hour wine tour! Where did we go? Well have a look at these photos of some of the scenery found along the way.
Despite the smoke in the air the artwork and grape vines were beautiful at Red Rooster!
Our tour included 6 vineyards including Ruby Blues Winery in Naramata. The vineyard was once known as Ruby Tuesday, but to avoid confusion with the U.S. based restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday, and Mick Jaggar did not give approval, they changed their name to Ruby Blues.
It’s amazing how you can bring together 7 people, who don’t know each other, and then find some great conversation, great wine and great times in 3 hours. Our tour included a couple from Montreal, Lisa and Gino. As I pointed out to them, the tour was meant to be since Gino rhymes with vino! They’d been a on a wine tour in Niagara Falls Region last year and said it just didn’t compare to the Naramata Region. Really not a surprise since there are about 47 vineyards in the Naramata area alone.
Also on the wine tour Jeanette from Vancouver with her fun flip flops, yes they’re flip flops, not slippers and her friend visiting from Russia. When I mentioned that it was my hubby and I’s 15th anniversary, they insisted on buying us a bottle of wine to share, which we did over the weekend. Thanks to the ladies for “Peace Love & Bubbles”!
Karen our driver from Grape Friends Lounge & Tours, was truly an amazing host. She made sure that we had bottled water, crackers, pretzels, chips, etc to have between each stop. When we began the trip her wish was that we’d all have a “grape time’ before the end of it, which we certainly did.
What’s your favourite kind of wine. Where’s your favourite vineyard. Where would you suggest to go on a wine tour? Let us know.
