The in-flight safety video is an integral but usually overlooked part of the flying experience. Often, airlines will employ aspects like colorful animation in an attempt to capture the interest of passengers. OR, if the budget allows, you could go with a star cameo. Sure enough, in the case of British Airways, they’ve gone the celebrity route.
This week, the airline released a star-studded in-flight safety video in conjunction with the charity Comic Relief. The premise is that celebrities are auditioning for comedian Asim Chaudhry. And from images like Chiwetel Ejiofor handsomely mugging for the camera in introducing the vid, to Gordon Ramsey getting upset (like only he can) in getting fed the wrong lines for his bit about storing baggage, Sir Ian McKellen majestically explaining how to put on oxygen masks in case of cabin depressurization, to a final appearance by Rowan Atkinson in full ‘Mr. Bean’ mode, this is a beauty.
