We’ve been asking Kiss FM Listeners/Texters to share photos of the smoke and dry conditions in an effort to remind people to not flick their cigarettes out the window and to be weary of any kind of potential flame. This morning on my walk in to work I shot these photos. Somewhere behind that tree are mountains past the East Hill. First photo is of West Vernon taken from East Hill of Vernon
The sun is behind that smoke somewhere. Be careful in the heat and the smoke or you could end up in VJH. Note the smoky haze around it too.
If you have photos to share TALK or TEXT 250-545-7557, email firstname.lastname@example.org, Facebook, use the new KISS FM APP, Instagram or Twitter.
This photo is courtesy of Ingrid Fisher who says it’s “Our view of Okanagan Lake from East Hill!”
Our 1075 Kiss FM General Manager Stu Crouse sent this photo during the Retro Lunch Show today. This is the smoke and haze outside Rona today, which raises a good point, stores have air-conditioning to beat the heat and probably better air-quality indoors!
Kiss FM Texter Kesha shared this photo of Salmon Arm this afternoon!
These photos of Silverstar Mountain from Kiss FM Texter Mary Brodie remind us of how just one little spark could damage so many trees and lives.
Kiss FM Texter Darlene Bonsan sent this photo in of Okanagan Lake and what it looks like today
In response to this photo I posted on Facebook yesterday on just how dry it is out there, Kiss Fm Sam N Cory pointed out “Did you mention an ember can travel anywhere from one-quarter to one mile in the wind?
To report a wildfire or irresponsible behaviour you can call 1-800-663-5555 or use *5555 from a cell phone.
Another Kiss FM Texter Juanita Skrinnikoff shared these photos from yesterday and said “This morning to this afternoon. It got so much worse! So thick out there right now!”
This is what it looks like at Juanita’s today
Kiss FM Texter Helen sent these photos along as well of last night’s sunset and this morning’s sunrise.
Hope you get to breathe a little fresh air today somewhere!!!!
