Ever since I was little, my dad has been away for Father’s Day. Let’s be clear, this was his day and what he loved to do was fish, so my sister and I would usually give gifts before he left, and upon his return, we got to eat all of the leftover twizzlers and chocolate bars he didn’t eat.
We’re all grown up now and we don’t get the leftover twizzlers, but he still goes fishing and what I look forward to when he comes back is the amazing salmon dinner we’re going to have.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s hard to buy a gift for a man who’s only wish for Father’s Day is to get out of dodge and spend a few days on the river trolling in a belly boat.
Then again, most people will say that dads are hard to buy for, which is why I’ve come up with a few ideas for Father’s Day gifts, which by the way, is this Sunday.
Custom Beer Label
Does dad like beer? Of course he does, pick a photo (or 3) and make custom beer labels for him to enjoy and show off to his friends. Link HERE.
Crosley Cruiser Turntable
Ever wonder why dad kept all those records stored away? He was waiting for you to get him this turntable from Indigo .
Leatherman Multi Tool
If he doesn’t have one already, the leatherman multi tool is a perfect gift for dad. Find it HERE for $59.99
History of Fly Fishing
If your dad is anything like mine, he has a room dedicated to fly fishing. This book from Amazon gives the history of fly fishing in 50 flies, buy it HERE.
Even though my dad goes fishing for Father’s Day, I still plan to sit and have a beer with him and ask him about all his crazy fishing stories, I know it’s cheesy but one of the best things you can give this Father’s Day is time. P.s. a one day fishing license is $10 and you can find all the information you need HERE.
