Last night’s Power Of The Purse event drew a fantastic crowd at the Vernon Lodge. Organizer’s are still tallying the final total on how much was raised but the Miracle Bucket Society was so pleased with the turnout and more importantly the generosity of those who took part. Monies raised help to make a difference for families experiencing socioeconomic and/or health challenges in our community. When families who fall between the cracks and are not able to get assistance through other resources, it’s great to know that the Miracle Bucket Society can help make a difference.
The Miracle Bucket Society’s mission is to give families in crisis a sense of hope, to let them know that they are valued, that someone believes in them.
Vernon Transition House, Canadian Mental Health Association and The Miracle Bucket Fund are all facilitator groups that the Miracle Bucket Society works with.
1075 Kiss FM’s Jason Armstrong hosted the event for the third straight year, together with Valley Auctioneer Don Raffan and other auctioneers including Don’s son Brody.
My co-workers Helen Belford, Kiss Morning’s Jen Bailey, Susan Slater, Diane Mann, Aryana Jacura and I had a fabulous time checking out the silent auction as well as the fantastic appetizers.
It was a lovely evening for an amazing cause. for more details see www.miraclebucketsociety.com
