Lake Country residents will be going to the polls for a by-election June 24.
Three candidates are running for the vacant seat for Carr’s Landing: Jeanette Lambert, Joanne DeVries and D. Oscar Barnes.
The vacancy came when Matt Vader resigned to take a job with the District.
Meantime, Todd McKenzie is expected to be acclaimed to the vacant Oyama seat formerly held by the late Owen Dickie.
McKenzie was the only person to run.
The District’s chief elections officer Reyna Seabrook says each candidate has a week to withdraw, so McKenzie could be officially acclaimed on May 26.
Advance polls will be on June 14 and 20.
The successful candidates will serve 16 month terms, starting July 4.
