Last night my Kiss FM co-worker Helen Belford and I were once again judges for the karaoke finals at Squires Four Pub.
The 10 finalists who competed included Mike Scott, Joel Williamson, Cyndie Roufosse, Wayne Gondor, Michael Hughes, Lisa Cantafio, Tess Mellis, Donna Backman, Maxxie Fields and Jarod Flanders. There were two wild cards as well, Anita Bencze and Derick (Mastar Mix). Here are some photos of the night’s festivities.
They each sang two songs and were scored on such aspects as whether they were on key, hitting the notes, appearance and keeping time to the karaoke machine words.
The style of music chosen ranged from pop, to country, to rock and swing/jazz
Coming in first place was Michael Hughes, second place was Maxxie Fields and third place went to Joel Williamson.
Michael has won a trip to Vegas!
Last year’s winner Charlotte Backman sang as well.
Michael did a fantastic job on 21 Pilots “Ride” which is not an easy song to sing. Have a look/listen to the 21 Pilots original.
To all those who sang last night, it was a pleasure to hear and see you all.
