At one time in this crazy world, putting a clock in something was considered cutting edge. It looks like this pillow has taken “putting a clock in it” to a new level. It’s a “smart pillow.”
You set a wake time through an app on your smartphone, and the pillow starts to light up-waking you at the appropriate time. There is also gentle music, or nature sounds available to bring you round in the morning.
And it wouldn’t be a smart pillow, if I didn’t track your sleep, and spit out a bunch of data to help you optimize your downtime. Honestly, I love this idea. Sleep is one of those things they say is most important for a good quality of life, so why wouldn’t I want to see how my day-to-day activities affect my sleep. Sure, I could do it with ink and paper, but we’re living in a ‘done for you’ world and I’m all for it.
I’ve never really been the kind of person who has trouble falling asleep, but the kind of person who has trouble waking up. I’m pretty sure this is because I don’t sleep the proper amount for my body… Either too much or too little. Hopefully, a pillow like this will help me find that third bowl of porridge.
