When I was a kid living above the port of Prince Rupert, I got into garlic patch of my parents garden and ate garlic raw. I’ll tell you how that story ended shortly but since it’s National Garlic Day, I thought I’d pass along my Mom’s recipe for Garlic Sweet Treat! It’s delicious!

Simple Sweet Garlic Treat
8 oz cream cheese at room temperature
2 cloves minced garlic
Combine well and form in a log or just place in a dish
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1-2 tsp dijon mustard
4-5 dashes worcestershire sauce
Cook stirring constantly at 3 to 5 on stove top until mixture bubbles and reaches soft ball stage-about 5 minutes.
Add a good handful of pecans and then spread over cream cheese mixture. Serve with Triscuit crackers or ones or your choice

How did that story end with me and garlic as a kid. My mom noticed what’d I’d done and said “Oh Melanie, you stink….” I cried. Lots of hugs from Mom after that even though I wreaked of a whole bulb of garlic! Haha.
