The Easter Bunny came again this year, and left a scavenger hunt of epic proportions… It was at least moderately enjoyable if not epic. After all the goodies were collected, we decided to continue exploring on her own. Admittedly, it was not new territory so maybe exploration is the wrong word, but it had been forever since we had been to the beach (or even close)
We hopped in the car with chocolate and candies in tow, and made our way to Mara Lake for a picnic. Again, ‘picnic’ is a pretty loose term – we brought a beach blanket and candy.
Our expectation was that nobody would be around – seriously, it wasn’t close to ‘beach warm’ – but we ran into two families who were doing the same thing we were. It was such a long winter, and spring has been lackluster at best, so it seems folks are willing to go to great length to make it ‘feel like summer’ as soon as possible.
Top 3 signs we can use to trick ourselves into thinking summer will be here soon:
- Sitting in traffic thinking “I really should start going around theother way. This traffic is at ‘tourist level’”
- People in their boats on the lake (hardcore pretenders)
- Families sitting on the beach (even if they’re dressed for autumn.)
