Do you ever feel like a robot? Well technology appears to bringing us closer to that reality.. We’ve been hearing stories for years now of science projects on embedding microchips into people for technology enhancement.
Epicenter, a company in Sweden has many employees “get a microchip the size of a grain of rice injected into their hand. The microchip acts like a security card, allowing people who have one to just wave their hand to do things like open doors, work printers or even buy snacks. About 150 Epicenter employees have the microchip, which is injected into the hand between the thumb and forefinger in a process that just takes a few seconds. Of course, security and privacy questions have been raised, with data from the chips able to show things like when an employee gets to work or what they buy. While company swipe cards can show the same thing, someone can always separate themselves from their card, but can’t do that with an embedded chip” (Associated Press)
