I’m going to make a case for Easter being the best holiday, and yes, chocolate is high on the list of why it’s great, but not the only reason.
When I was a kid, we had an Easter egg hunt (like most kids do), and a scavenger hunt, which always seemed a little more unique to my family.
I loved looking for candy and chocolate in the back yard, but the scavenger hunt was the big event of the day. It makes sense, a bigger payoff for hard work and patience. (At least that’s what I tell myself.)
The payoff in most cases was a really big egg, a barbie, or one year, a bike! (Yes, I’m very aware I was a spoiled child.)
Nostalgia aside, Easter still means something to me today. I don’t have an Easter egg OR a scavenger hunt, but I do look forward to a treat from my mom Easter weekend. (Thanks mom.)
I also look forward to all things associated with Easter…the colours, the food, and the weather, which is why I think this holiday qualifies as one of the best.
Easter is synonymous with spring, so it’s easy to decorate without looking to hokey, I’ve compiled a few of my favourite Easter ideas for you today 🙂
