The Canucks have Daniel and Henrik, but when it comes to superstar twins, the hearts of Vipers fans will forever be linked with the Jones brothers.
Part of the Snake Pit for four seasons, Connor and Kellen Jones were electrifying on the ice, helping Vernon to two Royal Bank Cup Championships during their tenure with the team (2006-07 through 2009-10). Still teammates, the twins from B.C.’s West Kootenays are part of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers – although one half of the duo has had to take a leave of absence from Connecticut…for the best reason possible.
On Sunday night, Connor made his NHL debut, as he was called up by the New York Islanders.
Thanks to the Islanders website, we have an inside peek at not only how exciting the day was Connor, but for his parents and sibling as well. This is heartwarming stuff…..enjoy. And to the Jones family – congratulations! ~ Jason
