BC’s NDP leader will be in Vernon tonight for a health care forum.
John Horgan and health spokesperson Judy Darcy say they are concerned about longer wait times at walk-in clinics and for other services.
Darcy expects to hear lots of concerns.
“Whether its not having access to a family doctor or a nurse practitioner; whether its waiting a year, a year and a half or even two years on a surgical wait list for a hip replacement.”
“People are waiting far too long for health care and we are asking people to come out and share their concerns.”
Darcy says they invite residents, health care workers and stakeholders to the forum.
“I hear from people all the time and I did when I was in Vernon recently, about people waiting too long for quality health care.”
The forum will be tonight at 7 at the Best Western Pacific Inn on 34th Street.
